With more than 35 years’ experience in financial services, Darren leads BAT Financial Solutions with a simple philosophy: always do the right thing for the client.
Darren began his banking career with Halifax in 1987, progressing to Assistant Manager of its flagship Cornhill branch before moving into international consultancy with Fiserv, where he worked on projects across Ireland, the Netherlands and Poland.
Returning to the UK, he joined NatWest as a Business Relationship Manager, specialising in business, franchise and real estate finance. In 2017, he became Head of Regulated Lending for Business Banking, with responsibility for areas including:
- Mortgage Conduct of Business (MCOB) compliance
- SIPP lending and Green Finance initiatives
- Lending appeals and oversight
- Broker relationships and onboarding
Drawing on decades of experience across retail banking, business banking and commercial finance, Darren helps businesses secure funding solutions that align with their objectives, circumstances and growth plans.
Known for his integrity, professionalism and client-first approach, he is committed to building long-term relationships based on trust, transparency and sound advice.
Outside of business, Darren is a dedicated Scouting volunteer, serving as Lead Group Volunteer & District Trustee , reflecting a lifelong commitment to service, leadership and supporting others.
