What are Business Loans?

A business loan helps your company access the funds it needs to grow, invest, or manage cash flow.

Secured Business Loans use something your business owns — like property, vehicles, or equipment — as security. Because there’s an asset behind the loan, lenders can often offer larger amounts and lower rates.

Unsecured Business Loans don’t require any collateral. They’re based on your business’s trading history and credit strength, and can usually be arranged more quickly, though interest rates may be a little higher.

The right funding choice gives your business the flexibility and confidence to move forward, whether that means expanding, hiring, or simply keeping things running smoothly.

Bridging finance

Bridging finance is a short-term loan designed to help you ‘bridge the gap’ between buying something and securing longer-term funding or selling another asset.

It’s often used when you need to move quickly — for example, to purchase property, refinance, or unlock cash tied up in existing assets.

Secured against property or land, bridging loans are flexible and can usually be arranged much faster than traditional lending. They’re typically repaid within 6 to 24 months, either through a property sale, refinance, or other funding source.

Bridging finance can be a smart solution for businesses that need quick access to capital to seize an opportunity — without waiting for slower funding routes to complete.

Asset Finance

Asset finance helps your business buy, lease, or refinance equipment and vehicles without using up valuable cash flow.

It allows you to spread the cost of essential assets — such as machinery, technology, or commercial vehicles — over an agreed period, keeping your working capital free for day-to-day operations.

There are several flexible options, including hire purchase, leasing, or refinancing existing assets to release cash.

Asset finance is a practical way to grow your business, invest in new equipment, or upgrade what you already have — all while keeping your finances predictable and manageable.

Types of Asset Finance

  • Hire Purchase – Own the asset at the end of the agreement by spreading payments over time.

  • Finance Lease – Use the asset while making regular payments, without owning it outright.

  • Operating Lease – Ideal for short-term use or regularly updated equipment.

  • Asset Refinance – Release cash tied up in existing assets to improve cash flow.

Invoice Finance

Invoice finance helps improve your cash flow by unlocking money tied up in unpaid customer invoices. Instead of waiting 30, 60, or even 90 days for payment, you can access a large portion of the invoice value almost immediately.

This type of funding is ideal for businesses that sell to other businesses on credit terms and need to keep cash moving to cover expenses, pay staff, or invest in growth.

With invoice finance, your funding grows as your sales grow — giving you flexibility and control without taking on additional long-term debt.
